“It takes me 15 minutes to get to work, and my hours are 8.30am till 5.00pm with an hour for lunch.

I am currently studying AAT which is Association of Accounting Technicians, a well known accounting qualification. This takes 3 years to complete foundation stage 1, intermediate stage 2 and technician stage 3. I am at technician stage.

My job consists of control account reconciliation which is done after the accounts are produced; this is like a double check to make sure everything is in the right place. Journals are a big part of the job moving costs such as reallocation of labour.

At the beginning of the month stocks are taken at the plant and processed at the accounts department to capture the correct value.

I also get to visit and help the plants with any accounting quires they have.

If you enjoy problem solving this is the job for you finding thing, correcting, breaking things down and sorting issues for the plants.”
